For Workers and Employees:  How to Use RWHCC

The Restaurant Worker Health Care Cooperative (RWHCC) is a health care program created for you, the restaurant worker / employee.  RWHCC is for both part time and full time employees of the member restaurant.

RWHCC is a health care cooperative cooperative (NOT health insurance) where the owners contribute some funds each month to a common pool of money.  These funds are used to pay for medical and health needs you may have.

At the present time, RWHCC medical services include whatever services David J. Ores, MD (a general practitioner) can provide in his medical office on Clinton Street.  As time passes, we hope to offer other services such as x-rays, some medications, preventative testing, screening tests and other basic care needs.   Dr. Ores will also help you receive whatever care or medications you need at the lowest possible cost.

RWHCC does not cover in hospital care, emergency room care, persons who have medical insurance (or Medicaid) or medical care for family members.

There is no charge to you the worker to call Dr. Ores or to visit his office. In fact, you are encouraged to call and visit with any concern or question you may have about your health or wellness. The earlier you call Dr. Ores, the easier it usually is to care for you. RWHCC has been created and funded to help you, the restaurant worker.

Dr. Ores is also a resource for health and medical information for you. For example, Dr. Ores can often get your medications through patient assistance programs for free and we also receiver a much reduced rate for any blood test or lab fee you may need.  We promise to do our best to minimize any cost or expense that is needed for your specific situation.
